A rare gem indeed; Jessey Jackson is quite simply a force to be reckoned with! Far from your average ‘run of the mill’ female performer; this self taught singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist is often likened to celebrated artists such as the immortal Janis Joplin, Melissa Etheridge, Tracy Chapman and Stevie Nicks. Her formidable raw and gutsy vocals; backed by foot driven beats, harmonies, rhythm, slide & lead guitars; create both a unique and powerful wall of sound. With performances featuring everything from silky smooth folk, to dirty slide blues, rock, country and soul; Jessey passionately delivers to audiences of all ages a truly diverse and entertaining one woman show!
Jessey received her first guitar at the tender age of 7, attending a handful of guitar lessons at age 8. However by 11 years old she had forgotten all but 6 chords. Despite her limited knowledge, Jessey performed occasionally at local Country & Western clubs and in her early twenties attended the odd open mic. Throughout this period Jessey wrote original poems and musical compositions but lacked the confidence to follow her dream of performing them live in local venues
Since her initial performance at the 2010 Anglesea Music Festival, Jessey has gone on to further develop her distinct vocal style and overall sound – adding harmonies, electronic percussion and several guitars to her act. Jessey’s song writing ability has also matured; and in early 2014 she released her 11 track album Deliver Me – a self performed recorded, mixed and mastered compilation. The album has since attained much praise from those within the industry and from music enthusiast’s alike; also gaining airplay on local radio. In Late 2015 Jessey released her second Album 'Carousel' which was also recorded, mixed and mastered by Jessey, this time with a diploma of Sound Production under her belt.
The Carousel album features a full band including Australia's best female drummer Andrea (Bam Bam) Norden on drums and percussion, also on drums and percussion Jessey's dad 'Bob Gillett', Pete Langley on Bass and Steve Thew on keys & harmonica. Carousel has been very well received by the public and critics alike and continues to surprise and delight any who purchase a copy.
In 2016 Jessey began preparations for a third album 'Judgement Day' Featuring Jessey on all guitars, vocals & midi and once again showcasing Australia's best female drummer Andrea (Bam Bam) Norden & Jessey's late father Bob Gillett on drums; Judgement day is set to be a worthy sequel to the 'Carousel 'and 'Deliver Me' albums However the opportunity to tour the Australian east coast & Northern Territory has seen the album temporarily put on the back burner. With all of the drum tracks, vocals, & rhythm guitars laid thanks to the folks at Oxygen College in Geelong Victoria, Jessey is currently laying the bass & lead guitar tracks from her camp chair in the 1992 pop top roadstar caravan she is touring in!
In 2017 Jessey was offered an opportunity to tour the Northern Territory (her first ever tour). Spending time in Mataranka, Katherine and Darwin, Jessey quickly fell in love with the travelling and territory lifestyle. Her favourite NT venue by far was the Manbulloo Homestead Caravan Park where she spent 3 months entertaining people from all over the country from the back of an old truck.
Having caught the bug, Jessey has since embarked on a never ending Australian tour. Embracing the bohemian/gypsy lifestyle she now travels all over Australia performing in clubs, pubs, bistro's, wineries, markets, festivals and caravan parks making new friends and winning the hearts of many as she continues to perform a mixture of covers and originals, She has been on the road since January 18 2018. and since departing has performed in Tamworth, Airlie Beach, Cannonvale, Katherine, Dunmarra & Darwin and in 2019 has already completed a second Vic & NSW leg of the tour!

ACHIEVEMENTS (SO FAR....)
Over the coming years Jessey often performed on the same bill as celebrated artists Chris Wilson, Dave Steel, Tiffany Eckhart and her long time hero Cyndi Boste; whilst also appearing in local cafes, bars, and festivals including: the Torquay Festival, Anglesea Music Festival, Aireys Inlet Open Mic Festival, Barwon Heads Festival of the Sea, Chillout Festival and many more. Having in 2012 caught the eye of highly acclaimed national touring outfit Cleveland Blues (Ihaia Cleveland Pirere & Andrea Bam Bam Nordon) Jessey was subsequently invited to support the Sunshine Coast duo in her home town; Jessey has also since supported Cleveland Blues in Apollo Bay and Barwon Heads. In February of 2014 an invitation from former Apollo Bay Music Festival Director Caroline Moore, saw Jessey support Aussie icon and former Australian Crawl member James Reyne at the Anglesea Golf Club; where a sold out audience was captivated by her remarkable stage presence, original material and unique interpretation of old standards. Opportunity knocked once again in February of 2015 when Jessey was invited by Caroline Moore to open for Former Cruel Sea frontman Tex Perkins. Jessey performed to yet another sold out audience who received the all original set with great enthusiasm and appreciation.
In March of 2017; Jessey was invited to open for Australia's sweethearts The Chantoozies & 80's Rock favourites Mental as Anything at the Bellarine Estate Winery. After successfully entertaining the large & attentive audience with nothing but her original tunes; Jessey then took off to the Central Club Hotel (Richmond) to honour an invitation to open to a sell out crowd for Aussie rock legends 'The Giants' who were hosting their 35th anniversary celebrations. Once again the appreciative crowd enthusiastically welcomed Jessey's unique style and energy with remarkable enthusiasm and support.
At age 25 with the support of her family, Jessey sought to overcome her reservations by teaching herself more of the guitar. Through perseverance and experimentation she soon developed her very own style and subsequently found her true voice. In 2010 a 27 year old Jessey Jackson took to the stage at the inaugural Anglesea Music Festival, with nothing more than her vocals and a single semi acoustic guitar. This was her first major gig. After wowing audiences at multiple performances throughout the festival it became clear to many that Jessey was both a unique and remarkable talent.
